Sydney Olympic Park

A Precinct Built for the Extraordinary

Sydney Olympic Park doesn’t do things in half measures. Built for the 2000 Summer Olympics, it remains one of the most ambitious pieces of urban infrastructure in Australian history, a 640-hectare precinct that has since evolved into a genuine community, cultural and entertainment destination.

Today, the Park hosts some of Sydney’s largest events across sport, music and business often across the same weekend. The parklands and cycling paths reward a slower visit. The restaurants, markets and public art installations reward curiosity. And the stadiums reward everyone who shows up ready for something worth remembering.

Three of Australia’s most significant venues sit within the precinct: Accor Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena and ENGIE Stadium. Between them, they cover the full breadth of Sydney’s major event calendar, from NRL finals and international football to arena concerts and A-League fixtures. Whatever brings you to Olympic Park, the precinct has a way of making the occasion feel significant.

For Sydney locals, Olympic Park has changed considerably in recent years. If you haven’t visited lately, the precinct is worth a fresh look. And if you’re travelling into Sydney for an event here, Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport offers a comfortable and well-connected base without the complexity of staying closer to the CBD.

Getting to Sydney Olympic Park from Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport

By car: The drive from Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport to Olympic Park takes approximately 20–25 minutes via the M5 and Homebush Bay Drive. Event-day traffic can extend this, so allow extra time for major occasions. Parking is available across the precinct, though pre-booking is recommended for large events.

By train: Olympic Park has its own dedicated train station served by direct services during events. From Mascot, take the Airport & East Hills Line into the city and connect to the Olympic Park line — total journey time is typically 35–45 minutes. Services are well-managed for large crowds and run late after major events.

By taxi or rideshare: A direct rideshare from the hotel to Olympic Park takes around 20–25 minutes outside peak times and is a convenient option when you want a predictable departure time.
