Circular Quay

The Heart of Sydney Harbour

If there is a single point from which Sydney makes complete sense, it is Circular Quay.

The harbour. The Bridge. The Opera House. The ferries threading out across the water to Manly, Watsons Bay and Parramatta. The restaurants and bars lining the promenade. The bustle of commuters, tourists and locals who have never quite lost their appreciation for what surrounds them. Circular Quay is where the city converges, and it does so with a generosity that few urban centres in the world can match.

For visitors to Sydney, it is the natural starting point. From here, the city’s greatest experiences; the harbour foreshore walk to the Rocks, a ferry to Taronga Zoo, a climb of the Harbour Bridge, dinner with the Opera House as backdrop — all begin with a short walk in one direction or another.

From Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport, Mascot Station is a five minute walk, and the train to Central takes just two stops. From Central, Circular Quay is a single City Circle connection away — making the whole journey around 25–30 minutes from door to quay.
