Allianz Stadium

Sydney's Rugby and Football Heartland

Few sporting venues in Australia carry as much history as Allianz Stadium. Located in Moore Park, one of Sydney’s great inner-city precincts, it is the home ground of the Sydney Roosters and the NSW Waratahs, a regular venue for Socceroos internationals, and one of the defining addresses in Australian sport.

The rebuilt stadium, reopened in 2022 following a comprehensive redevelopment, has reset the standard considerably. Better sightlines. Improved facilities. A closer relationship between the crowd and the action that elevates every visit. The atmosphere the venue has always been capable of producing now arrives with considerably more comfort which, for anyone who spent years in the old eastern grandstand, feels long overdue.

For visitors coming to Sydney for an Allianz event, the hotel’s airport proximity keeps logistics clean — fly in, check in, get to the game, and return without the city traffic making it complicated. For locals making a proper occasion of it, the combination of Moore Park, the surrounding dining precinct and the stadium itself makes for a Sydney evening that’s hard to beat.

Getting to Allianz Stadium from Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport

By car: The drive from Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport to Allianz Stadium takes approximately 20–25 minutes via Southern Cross Drive, depending on traffic. Moore Park has parking facilities, though availability on event days is limited, arriving early or using public transport is generally the better approach.

By train and light rail: Take the train from Mascot to Central Station, then connect via light rail (L2) to the Moore Park stop, which is a short walk from the stadium. Total journey time from the hotel is approximately 35–40 minutes. The light rail is a reliable option on event days and handles crowds well.

By taxi or rideshare: A direct rideshare from the hotel to Allianz Stadium typically takes 20–25 minutes outside peak times. Drop-off on Driver Avenue adjacent to the stadium is the most convenient point for most gates.
